MLS Thoughts: Portland Timbers a real contenders this year

Portland struggled last season, failing to win a single road match in their MLS Cup title defense. But this season has been very different. The Timbers sit atop MLS with nine points and ten goals. And they look ready to make another MLS Cup run.

A few thoughts on the first weekend of 2017 MLS season

Western Conference likely to again boast of MLS Cup winner

To say that the Western Conference is stacked is an understatement. Last year, it was a brutal conference just to get into the postseason. It would be a lead FC Dallas would not blow as the Hoops finally received a full three points. It couldn't come at a better time for FC Dallas. The win was the first for the team since April 19--nearly two months ago.
