Who are you?

My name is Jacob Martella and I am a web developer, mainly using WordPress as my content management system.

What do you do?

As I mentioned, I’m a web developer. I currently work as a web dev at the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth. And I also do freelance work working with small businesses to get them a nice, modern website.

Why did you get into web development?

I kind of fell into it. I had an arena football blog that ran on WordPress and wanted to customize to accomplish some cool functionality. So I started learning HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and MySQL. Eventually, my passion for arena football fell away, but my passion for web development has remained sky high. Check out the bio page to read more about my story on how I got into web development.

Do you do freelance work?

Yes! While my main job is being a web developer at the UNT Health Science Center, I am available to work on freelance gigs.

How can you help me?

If you’re a small business or just need a website for whatever you do, I can help make that a reality. Whether it’s just taking a pre-built theme and skinning it to match your colors and branding or creating a completely custom WordPress website, I can help you accomplish your web-related goals.

Why do you use WordPress?

WordPress was the first content management system I used going back to my high school newspaper days, and it’s the easiest CMS I’ve used. I also love that it’s open source, and the community around it has been nothing short of amazing. I wouldn’t be where I am without it.

How can I contact you?
