I see the light at the end of the tunnel, but know there’s another tunnel immediately after. Such is the life of a coder I guess.
At any rate, it feels really good to know I’m coming to the end of a process I began back in December of last year and to see the progress this theme has made since I set out planning it. To be honest, while most of it looks like I envisioned when I started creating it six months ago, but there are a good number of things that look nothing like I originally planned, and that’s okay. I’m still learning the ins and outs of CSS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and web design as well as what works and what looks good on the web.
So this week, I basically finished the mobile version. The last part that needs to be added to that version is the social icons. Other than that, I’m going to change the width needed to invoke the tablet version to 979 pixels since that’s the width of the home page with the sidebar included and it would too hard to make a separate adjustment for screen sizes between 980 pixels and 768 pixels.
Once those two get done, I’m going to make available a release candidate, RC, for those who want to help shape the theme from here until the official release and who are willing to help debug the theme. It will available here. On that page will also be screenshots and the Read Me–which includes how to’s, installation guides and change log among others–and a link to the demo site.
So I’ll be working on getting those written and put up hopefully by the end of the weekend. As for the actual theme, there are still things that will cleaned up in order to get it into the WordPress Theme Directory. Actually still need to add styles for photos that are put into posts as well as taking a look at styling the tags in the tag cloud widget.
So that ought to keep me busy this weekend especially as I watch the World Cup. But I can feel this all coming to an end.
