Getting started with a new theme

So the last month or so has been a down period for me and WordPress. After sending off the initial version of Giornalismo and the 2.0 release of Nuovo, I haven’t been doing much work in developing on WordPress.

Time for the FC Dallas front office to be held accountable

Dear Dan Hunt and the rest of the FC Dallas front office.

Take a seat and for once in your life hear the complaints of those who truly support this team and live out the “Dallas ‘Til I Die” motto, because we need to have a talk.

For Manchester United, season will either be great or disastrous

Being a Manchester United fan is an interesting proposition nowadays.

At least in the time frame that I have been following the team, it’s been either feast or famine — there hasn’t been much middle ground, save maybe last season when the team finished in fourth (though there were a few embarrassing defeats in there).

Unfortunately, this season appears to be headed in that direction.

WordPress 4.3 not flashy, but a solid update nonetheless

Last week, WordPress 4.3, nicknamed “Billie Holliday” for the jazz musician — as are all of the major releases for the blogging platform — was released to the world.

This was the first release cycle that I followed heavily through the Make WordPress blog, so none of the features in the release caught me off guard. I also took it for a test drive myself on a couple of my development sites just to test out the features and to make sure nothing in this release would break anything I have in the WordPress repositories.

Final month-plus should be exciting time in Arlington

Against all of the odds at the beginning of the season, the Rangers have found themselves in thick of the playoff hunt with roughly a month-and-a-half to go in the season.

Heading into action Tuesday night, the Rangers were just three games behind the Houston Astros for the top spot in the AL West and just a game behind the Baltimore Orioles for the second wild card spot.

Time for the Little League World Series to change it’s format

This weekend starts one of the greatest traditions of summer: the Little League World Series.

Eight teams from across the United States and eight international teams will descend upon Williamsburg, Penn., for the next couple of weeks, fighting it out to determine which group of 11- to 12-year-olds is, in fact, the best team in the world.

It’s a great experience for the kids that make it as they get to live out every kid’s dream and be on ESPN and basically live like rock stars during the tournament.

But the tournament isn’t without it’s flaws.

Setting up the NFL for promotion and relegation

With the European soccer season beginning this month, I’ve decided to explore what promotion and relegation could do to a top American sports league, particularly the NFL and how it could make it more exciting.

Read More About plugin released this week

While waiting for Nuovo and Giornalismo to go through their respective theme reviews, I received a bit of good news this week from the plugin front.

Mere days after submitting it, the Read More About plugin was approved for the WordPress Plugin Directory, making it technically the third plugin I have in the directory, but just the second stand alone plugin (one is essentially a functionality plugin for Giornalismo).
